1. Information We Collect

Account Holders (Quiz/Survey/Poll Creators)

• Email address and password (stored as a secure hash) when you register
• Quiz, survey, and poll content you create
• Uploaded images associated with your content
• Date and time of account creation and last activity

Participants (Quiz Takers / Survey Respondents / Poll Voters)

• Participant fields (such as name or email) if requested by the quiz/survey creator — these are optional and configured by the creator
• Your answers and responses to quizzes, surveys, and polls
• IP address — used only to enforce attempt limits set by the creator
• A device token stored in your browser's local storage — used to prevent duplicate submissions on the same device. This token does not identify you personally.
• Browser user agent — collected for error diagnostics only

Automatically Collected Information

• Client-side error logs (page URL, error message, browser details) — collected only when the creator has enabled debug mode

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the QuizDesk service
• To authenticate your account and maintain your session
• To display quiz, survey, and poll results to creators
• To enforce attempt limits and prevent duplicate submissions
• To diagnose and fix technical errors
• To generate anonymised analytics for quiz/survey creators

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a secure PostgreSQL database hosted by Neon (neon.tech), with servers located in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and hashed passwords.

The QuizDesk web application is hosted on Netlify. File uploads are handled by UploadThing. These third-party providers have their own privacy policies and security practices.

4. Data Retention

• Account data is retained as long as your account is active
• Quiz, survey, and poll responses are retained until deleted by the creator
• Error logs are retained for a short period for debugging purposes
• IP addresses used for attempt limiting are stored with the submission record
• Device tokens exist only in your browser's local storage and are not transmitted unless you submit a quiz, survey, or poll

5. Cookies and Local Storage

QuizDesk uses the following browser storage:

• Session cookie: Used to keep you logged in as a registered user (account holders only)
• Local storage token: A device identifier stored on your device to prevent duplicate quiz/survey/poll submissions. It is not linked to your identity.

We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

6. Children's Privacy

QuizDesk does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account
